#12 - Robert Fulton

The Landscape photographer of the year 2011, Robert Fulton .
He was a late starter into photography some 20 years ago.

His photos are very painting-like and full with imaginative spaces.
I love that his photos are very fantasy, cold and embrace the beauty of nature.
It is not common that photographer will show the cool side of mother nature.

Many of his photos also seem to capture the  existence of wind that is present in the environment. He makes use of the shutter speed to enhance the direction and color of the pictures.

His photos provides a still, calming and peacefulness scenes of the nature to the viewers.

#11 - Alan Lim

Here comes a local photographer , Alan Lim.

He was the photographer who took a series of portrait photography for Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. It was an one-on-one photograph session.

During his time there, he produced countless catchy cover pages, edgy fashion spreads, arresting celebrity portraits, and powerful documentary photos.

The color combination and the compostion of the food photographs are nice.

He also travel to a lot of places. The photos recorded the lifestyle and beautiful colors.

I like his collections of portraits that really capture the expression and details on the person face.
The photos are clean and clear, with very nice smile.

#10 - Luke Austin

The winner of International Landscape photograph of the Year.
 Luke Austin from Australia.

These are the photos that he used for the contest :

The landscapes are too amazing! He captured the power and the mysterious of the nature.
Even though there isn't much color in the photos, the photos are wide enough and the textures are perfectly shown.

Looking at Luke's photos, I feel the peace of the nature.
Everything is just freeze at the perfect timing that perfectly express the lovely nature.

This kind of landscape that full with colors bring out different feelings, every image tells different stories.

'I prefer minimal landscape where there isn't too much clutter. It's in the simplicity,' said Luke Austin

#9 - Junichi Hakoyama

Junichi Hakoyama, an inspiring photographer from Japan.

People most usually solitary figures keep walking amidst interesting backgrounds and surreal surroundings all painted in black and white, but Junichi Hakoyama loves to do this style of  street photography.

There is an astonishing play of light and shadows within each of these photographs. Junichi keeps us reminding the vital rules of composition in his works, when we start observing the works here, it becomes more clear that good photographs are the ones which are frankly simple yet powerful.

Each of his photos is expertly composed on his Leica M Monochrom, and features strong geometrical elements:

Junichi Hakoyama‘s profile floored me at first sight. It was love (the photographic variety) as soon as we laid eyes on his distinct high-contrast black & white street photography style.

#8 - Lee Friedlander

Lee Friedlander, born in 1934, began photographing the American social landscape in 1948. With an ability to organize a vast amount of visual information in dynamic compositions, Friedlander has made humorous and poignant images among the chaos of city life, dense landscape and countless other subjects.

His photographs bring to the surface the juxtapositions of everyday life that comprise our modern world. Beyond the vigorous outward eye he turns to the world around him, Friedlander is also recognized for an investigation of self.

Friedlander's style focused on the "social landscape". His art used detached images of urban life, store-front reflections, structures framed by fences, and posters and signs all combining to capture the look of modern life.

His self portrait is so special that he insert himself into his photos - his shadow.

He likes taking photo in another perspective that other people wouldn't do.  He incorporate more content in his photos this is what make his photos cool and interesting.

#7 - Elliott Erwitt

Elliott Erwitt is an advertising and documentary photographer from France who is known for his black and white candid shots of ironic and absurd situations within everyday settings.

From his photos, i admire his very sense of humour when looking at the world, as well as his straightforward and nonsensical philosophies about photography.

His photos showed the very natural part of people daily life in very interesting way,
his photos recorded the details that usually we don't notice, from the very natural expression on their face to their actions.

Even though the photos are black and white, his photos still show the emotions. I personally find that he doesn't really plan to take a photo. You need to always wander around without a specific destination in mind.

And there is where you press the shutter.

We don't have to be too serious and hardcore to take a random candid shot , " I am serious to not to be serious " is what he said.

Elliott: " The important thing is management of time, because there’s so much going around. There’s so many things happening that take your concentration away from things that you want to be doing. What I want to be doing is taking pictures. Management of time becomes more complicated as your photographic life gets complicated."
